Entertainment

There are many talented local people who can come and entertain you at Westcove for an evening.

Music Music has always been a major part of Irish tradition and local pubs often have live music sessions, especially during the summer, however we can now offer our guests a selection of tailor-made musical evenings at Westcove, ideal for larger groups and special occasions. Weekdays are preferable, and you can either contact them directly or we can book them for you.
There are many other excellent musicians around. Katherine will be happy to discuss these with you.

Nature Living locally, we have John and Kerryann Fitzgerald who run Seaweed Workshops from their base in Caherdaniel: Their love of nature and all things marine has lead them to focus on seaweed which they have been harvesting, eating and experimenting with for many years. Kerryann uses her culinary skills to create delicious dishes from hand harvested local seaweeds. Click here to see what they can offer at Westcove. Musical Options for Westcove

Listen to — and “sing-along-with” — Pat and friends.

We are lucky to have some exceptionally talented musicians based in the area. Patrick Waters epitomises the extraordinary talent to be found in Kerry.  He has performed all over Ireland and America and has composed over 400 original songs.

Pat is a master storyteller and singer. He relates the often sad, but still heartwarming stories behind many Irish ballads before his soft voice soothes with haunting ballads such as ‘Isle of Hope’ or ‘Mountains of Mourne’. Yet his repertoire also encompasses many popular Irish artists from the Dubliners, ‘Rocky Road to Dublin’ and ‘Whiskey in the Jar,’ to Christie Moore’s ‘Ride On.’

Guests often require something more contemporary and Pat is well able to oblige.  His ability to entertain with American and British popular songs, from artists such as The Beatles, Bob Dylan, James Taylor, Cat Stevens, Adele, Ed Sheeran, Bruce Springsteen, Keith Urban, Eagles, along with hundreds of other artists is an added bonus.

His instruments encompass, guitar, bouzouki and whistle so he can adapt the evening to suit the guest’s choice.

He is happy to let anyone in the audience play or “sing-along” with him.   There is also an electronic keyboard in the house which all are welcome to use.
